Roadmap, Benefits, Risks and Delivery Plan (v1)

In previous First Steps, Maturity review, and Discovery, drivers for, components of and outcomes from a change initiative will have been prepared. 


To justify funding, resources and leadership time, an approved business case will provide the empowerment for a sponsor to deliver benefits, and provide the accountability needed.


Within the business case there will be content needed by each organisation, with it will contain the outline delivery plan, and the wider roadmaps into which the first approval fits.


Deepteam can provide support to enable development of these artefacts, and to assist the business sponsor to gain approval for the vision, roadmap, investment and approach.

There are, of course, alternative approaches which depend on your situation:


  • are you seeing strategy delivery failure - or want greater results?
  • do you want a different basis for your next strategic plan?
  • are you reviewing your busienss plan prep for next FY?
  • are you about to undergo merger or acquisition?
  • do you want to make sure you are balancing value today and value for tomorrow?


There are, of course, alternative approaches which depend on your sponsor:


  • You may only have support / funding for some aspects of the BIG capability
  • You may want to start low key, then build presence
  • Your sponsor will have a risk tolerance level - there may be a preference to make proof points in one area or dimension first
  • There may be other initiatives to integrate
  • It makes sense in any programme to build in checkpoints for 'value'
