The CEO would have responsibility for anti-slavery initiatives should there be any needed.

Human Rights Policy Statement

Deepteam is committed to upholding and respecting human rights in all aspects of our operations and supply chain, in accordance with the principles outlined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015, and other applicable laws and regulations.

We pledge to:

  1. Conduct our business with integrity, ensuring respect for the rights of all individuals impacted by our activities.
  2. Proactively prevent and address risks of modern slavery, forced labour, child labour, discrimination, and other human rights abuses in our supply chain.
  3. Engage with suppliers, contractors, and stakeholders to promote ethical practices and ensure compliance with international and local human rights standards.
  4. Monitor, review, and improve our human rights practices regularly to maintain accountability and transparency.
  5. Appropriate Living wage and conditions for staff and associates, and freedom of association and right to collective bargaining for staff.
  6. Provide safe, inclusive, diverse and fair working conditions for all employees, fostering an environment free from harassment or exploitation.

The policy statement references and aligns with the following international human rights guidelines:

  1. Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR):
The statement commits to upholding fundamental human rights principles outlined in the UDHR, including respect for equality, dignity, freedom, and fair treatment.
  2. UK Modern Slavery Act 2015:
By explicitly referencing the Act, the policy incorporates its key provisions, such as addressing modern slavery, forced labour, and human trafficking in business operations and supply chains.
  3. International Labour Organization (ILO) Core Conventions (implicit in the language about forced labour, child labour, and discrimination):
The statement upholds standards that align with the ILO’s core labour rights:
  • Freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining (Conventions 87 and 98).
  • The elimination of forced or compulsory labour (Conventions 29 and 105).
  • The abolition of child labour (Conventions 138 and 182).
  • The elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation (Conventions 100 and 111).
  1. United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs):
The commitment to monitor, review, and improve human rights practices, along with ensuring accountability and transparency, reflects the "Protect, Respect, and Remedy" framework of the UNGPs.
  2. Ethical Trade Initiative (ETI) Base Code (implicitly supported):
The reference to safe, inclusive, and fair working conditions aligns with the ETI's principles, based on the ILO conventions, regarding worker rights and ethical practices.

The CEO has accountability for these matters.

By covering these key guidelines and frameworks, the policy statement demonstrates compliance with international best practices in human rights and aligns with UK government procurement expectations.

Deepteam takes these commitments seriously and will take appropriate action in cases of non-compliance with our human rights principles.

Deepteam is a company operated by directors and associates known for many years. There is no dealing with agents to provide staff, we only work with people we know, hence there is very little risk of supporting slavery and human trafficking knowingly or accidentally.
